in 1953, Ben Hogan achieved what is considered one of the greatest seasons in golf history, winning the Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open, a feat he dubbed the ""Triple Crown"". This occurred just four years after a near-fatal car accident that nearly ended his career. Hogan's 1953 season is widely considered one of the most remarkable achievements in golf history.
The 1953 Ryder Cup saw the US Team defeat the British Squad 9 to 3 at Cape Cod’s Kittansett Club.
