Tiger Woods Issued Items For 2008 US Open
With brilliant clutch putting Tiger Woods willed himself into an 18 hole playoff at the 2008 U.S. Open, and again his deft skills on the green pulled out victory in the Monday playoff. It marked Tiger's third U.S. Open Championship and his 14th Major. On property bordering the course is The Lodge at Torrey Pines it was at this property that Tiger Woods would stay each time he competed at the PGA Tour's yearly stop known as the Buick and the '08 U.S. Open. The Hotel Manager at The Lodge from 2003 to 2009 was William Friese, our consignor (Please see photo of Mr. Friese and Tiger by plane, along with his letter of provenance on this and many other items from this time period in this auction). Through this relationship Mr. Friese acquired these Tiger Woods items offered in this lot which include PGA Hole Location Charts for each day of US Open including the Playoff, Official Scorecard, 2008-2009 USGA Rules of Golf Book, USGA Player Family Badge for Trophy Club and Player Hospitality, lot of four Lodge Parking Deck daily parking passes for Friday (June 13, 2008), Tiger Woods' dress checklist for each tournament day (shirts, pants, and hats), TW Tiger Pin, personal note on Nike Golf Card that reads: 'Not sure if I'm more excited for the Laker-Celtics games next...or your return!? Kick ass, my friend!' - Bartlett. On the package which held all information is the note of 'Call Craig'. A copy of Mr. Friese's signed and dated letter of provenance will come with this one-of-a-kind lot.
