Robert Simpson is one of the greatest club makers of all time. He arrived in Carnoustie in 1883 to take up the position of professional at the Dalhousie Golf Club, and, as well as attending to the needs of the members, was encouraged by the Club to further his activity in club making. This decision unleashed the talents of the most prolific, inventive and artistic club maker known. His design and manufacturing in his Carnoustie workshop changed the face of club making for all time. One of his renowned clubs, the Simpson Long Nose, is replicated in this lot. A great display frame box for your most prized golf club holds the Robert Simpson Replica Long Nose Club in place, it measures 8" x 42" x 1 3/4". Simpson Brothers Art Piece LTD Ed #401/850 is signed by Grandson Trevor Williamson 20 3/4" x 18" is size of the frame, piece is 12 1/2" x 10"
