1934 US Open Championship at Merion Cricket Club Press Runner Badge - Olin Dutra Winner
This offering is for a Press Runner ribbon badge for the 1934 US Open. The 1934 US Open was the first contested by the United States Golf Association at Merion and the first year that both Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson played in a US Open. The "Slammin' Spaniard" Dutra came back from eight shots back to beat Gene Sarazen and claimed the Open title. For the 33-year-old it marked his second Major championship victory after having triumphed in the 1932 PGA Championship at Keller Golf Club. The Press Runner ribbon badge is in fair to good condition, with overall wear to ribbon as seen in pictures. 1 3/8" diameter, 4 1/4" long with ribbon

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval).
