1952 Masters Tournament Third Round Badge #488 - Sam Snead Winner
The 1952 Masters Tournament was contested from April 3 to April 6 at Augusta National, it was the 16th Masters Tournament. Sam Snead won his second Masters of three Masters by four strokes over Jack Burke Jr. This was also the first year the Champions Dinner was held at the tournament, with third round co-leader and 1951 champion Ben Hogan initiating the event. This red 3rd Round low number Sunday ticket #488 was sold for $5 in 1952 to gain admittance and presents in fair condition, with a diagonal cut. It contains bold, dark print.
Slammin' Sammy Snead was a crowd favorite for his straw hat, sense of humor and winning of course. Snead won more than any other golfer on the PGA Tour prior to Tiger Woods tying his mark of 82 at the ZOZO Championship in 2019, nearly 55 years later. His Masters wins were among his favorites of those 82, serving as an honorary starter from 1984 until 2002.
