1935 PGA Championship at Twin Hills CC Contestant Badge - Johnny Revolta Winner

The 1935 PGA Championship contestant badge is a difficult year to obtain, as further evidence of this The Golf Auction has never offered it prior to this auction. As was the case back in 1935, the PGA Championship was a match play event. Johnny Revolta won his only major title, defeating Tommy Armour 5 & 4. The amount of golf played over so few days is astounding by today's professional standards. The match play format at the PGA Championship in 1935 called for 12 rounds (216 holes) to be played in six days. This royal blue badge from Twin Hills CC is in very good condition, with slight aging to reverse noted for accuracy. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
