'Big Four' of Ladies Golf Collett, Van Wie, Hicks, & Orcutt 1930 Southern Pines, NC Photo
Posed and labeled in time-period ink below their image are Glenna Collett, Virginia Van Wie, Helen Hicks, & Maureen Orcutt, affectionately known as the 'Big Four.' The camaraderie among the legendary ladies golfers was well documented, supporting each other throughout their careers. The amateur golfers in this photograph accounted for each of the US Women's Amateur wins from 1928 until 1935, along with other wins staring in Glenna Collett's 1922 victory. This photograph is labeled with the four first and last names on the reverse, along with 'Eddy's Studio.' 6 3/4" x 4 7/8."

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
