Vintage T.W. Minton & Co. Chromium Putter with Hickory Thumb Groove 'Huntly' Grip & Bend
Jones acquired his hickory shafts from the Minton Hickory Farm in Barbourville, Kentucky. T. W. Minton owned the Minton Hickory Farm, which made canes, wheel spokes, buggy whips, but they were world renowned for their Hickory golf shafts which were shipped worldwide and used by many period club makers. T.W. even invented and patented a method for grading hickory shafts. When travelling through, Bobby always made sure he would stop in Barbourville to see his friends at the Minton Hickory farm. He even gave an exhibition from time to time that is documented in two original photos in this current auction. Here is a vintage T.W. Minton & Co. Chromium putter with the 'Huntly' thumb groove. The thumb groove was patented in 1920 with patent number 165384. The putter’s shaft is warped and the head is slightly loose, but a great display piece nonetheless. 35 3/4"

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
**If extended bidding goes pass midnight ET, The Golf Auction reserves the right to close the auction at any time. We recommend bidders place their maximum bids prior to that time. Thank you
