1981 Masters Champions Plate - Stamped Prototype - Only 1

Demonstrating Gold Crest Ltd.'s Champions plate design in 1981, the company crafted this single example to present to Augusta National Golf Club in hopes of receiving a large order from the club and gaining their business. Augusta National Golf Club went a different direction, leaving this hand numbered 'P' for Prototype on the verse as the only plate produced by the company with this design. This decorative plate is adorned by the Masters Winner's Clubhouse Trophy, encircled by an artist's depiction of each of the past champions through 1981 in a sepia tone. Fine silver lines accent the plate, adding a touch of class. The reverse carries the Gold Crest Ltd. maker's stamp, along with the club's logo and text "This plate commemorates the 45th annual Masters Tournament (1934 thru 1981) played at the Augusta National Golf Club April 15-19 at Augusta, Georgia." 40 years later it is in good condition, with minimal wear that can be seen in the photos. 10 1/2" diameter

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15-minute time period (at 10pm ET, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). Place your bids now!

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm ET

**If extended bidding goes pass midnight ET, The Golf Auction reserves the right to close the auction at any time. We recommend bidders place their maximum bids prior to that time. Thank you**
