Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, & Gene Sarazen 'The Grand Slam Champions' Signed Ltd Ed Print 9/100 AP
The most elite club in professional golf is the one that only five distinguished men since 1916 have gained admittance to, with a handful of other legendary players conquering three of the four legs and coming up just short in the Modern Day Career Grand Slam. In 1935 Gene Sarazen was the inaugural member, finding victory by means of an unlikely Double Eagle on Augusta National's 15th hole on the final day of Masters competition to go on to victory over Craig would in a playoff. Bantam Ben Hogan, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus would join him the next few decades and since only Tiger Woods in 2000 would be added. Here is the 'The Grand Slam Champions' #9 Artist Proof, unimprovably signed by each of those four Grand Slam golfers below their "Mount Rushmore" like depictions. Originally obtained through Sanders' connections and celebrity status as a staple in golf for over two decades. The 20-time PGA Tour winner Doug Sanders was picked as a member of the 1967 Ryder Cup Team and obtained the nickname "The Peacock of the Fairways" with his colorful wardrobe. With friends in high places, a typical pro-am tournament field Sanders took part in might have consisted of names such as George H.W. Bush, Neil Armstrong and Willie Nelson. A large number of items that Doug collected over his playing career and thereafter are on display at The Doug Sanders Museum. Sharing in the joy of collecting, the generated funds from this sale will help benefit the Doug Sanders Museum. A signed letter of provenance from the museum will accompany this item. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm ET Sunday, September 26th. When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
