1937 Ryder Cup 6x8 Photo - Sarazen Defeats Allis - Unique Flags on Pole
When closely examining this photo, you will notice that the stars and stripes is flying on top of the pin to the right of Gene Sarazen and Percy Allis. This signified that The Squire representing The United States Team was victor of the match. This wire photo is from the 8-4 US victory at Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club in England. Walter Hagen was the non-playing captain for a star-studded winning team consisting of Byron Nelson, Henry Picard, Horton Smith and rookie Sam Snead. 6 1/4" x 8 1/4"
