Augusta National Golf Club Sterling Silver Clubhouse with Hole Names Trivet in Box
Presented in this lot is the prized trivet featuring a detailed clubhouse at Augusta National Golf Club depiction. The perimeter is lined with the names of the holes on the course as well as the plants they are named after. The Augusta National clubhouse is believed to be the first concrete house built in the South. It was built in 1854 as the home of Dennis Redmond, owner of the indigo plantation that came before Fruitlands Nursery. It is the most famous clubhouse in golf and signifies the tradition and grandeur associated with ANGC and the Masters. This stunning silver trivet is 7 1/8" in diameter and approximately 1/4" thick. As it sits it is in very good condition, with some surface scratching. A comparable piece sold for a $6,845.55 in our 2018 April Auction. This example is different than the four others we have offered over our decade plus of auctions, as it is presented in its original Garrard Co Ltd. box.
Annually played in the first full week of April, the Masters kicks off the major championships for the year, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same hallowed venue, Augusta National Golf Club. The Masters was the vision amateur champion Bobby Jones, who would partner up with investment banker Clifford Roberts. Three years senior Jones' grand slam in 1930, he purchased the former plant nursery land and co-designed Augusta National with course architect Alister MacKenzie.

Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm ET Sunday, November 21st. When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
