Henry Puget (Cypress Point Pro) Signed Handwritten April 1942 Letter with Scorecards - Babe at Cypress
"I am enclosing a scorecard with Babe Didrickson Zaharias' four round scores made during the Cypress Point Women's Open. These scores were made from the ladies' tees which are rather on the short side, but I think she would have done better from the men's tees, as she is so long off the tee that she often drove too far into trouble on a good many holes...Her (Babe) 73 on the last round is the lowest score ever made on Cypress Point by a woman, 77 being the ladies' record...Her Outstanding shot was made on the ninth hole of the third round, she drove four feet past the hole, but missed her putt for an eagle two." Cypress Point Pro Henry Puget handwrote on club letterhead on April 7, 1942. A time-period Cypress Point scorecard is scored for each of Zaharias' four rounds of the Cypress Point Women's Open, including her ladies course record of 73 on April 2, 1942. Also included was a newspaper article from the Miami 41-year Cypress Point Club Pro Herald recapping the unparalleled performance. Puget concludes his written letter with an ink signature on the back of the page. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
