1910 Essex Fells Club Sterling Silver Two Handle July 4th Handicap Golf Trophy

Essex Fells CC actually started with an Alex Findlay designed nine holes in 1900 but the “new” 18 hole course formally opened in 1916, making this sterling silver two handled golf trophy one of the earliest trophies to survive from this time period. Seth Raynor completed a major renovation and re-routing in the 1920’s. Inscribed “ESSEX FELLS CLUB July 4th Handicap Won by”. Measuring 7.25 inches, this trophy weighs 178g or 6.3 oz. The base is marked Sterling 2385. Slight bump on the base; otherwise in excellent condition.
