Tiger Woods 1996 Sports Illustrated '1st Appearance' No Label 10/28/96 - SNC #082802 MINT 9
Tiger Woods' first of 25 appearances as the cover subject of Sports Illustrated magazine came on October 28, 1996. It would mark almost a month to the day of life as a professional golfer - August 29, 1996. This ideal newsstand example grades a Mint 9 and has been encapsulated by magazine grading company Sports Newstand Company (SNC). It didn't take too long for Tiger to receive his second cover honor, all it took is his Masters Tournament victory in his third try less than 6 months later. Please note the following (slight) detractors stated for accuracy purposes. There is a very slight soft vertical crease from the "S" in Sports Illustrated through the top of the hat down. Additionally, a small fragment of plastic is loose inside the magazine, as shown in the photos. Add this mint condition magazine from the quickly increasing magazine market.
