1997 U.S Open Congressional Ping Anser Sample Putter - Rar
In this lot we offer a rare 1997 PING Anser putter that is brand new and in perfect condition. The Director of Member Services for Congressional Country Club personally confirmed in writing that the merchandising coordinator for the 1997 U.S. Open requested that several of the major golf equipment manufacturers submit a putter to be considered for sale in the merchandise tent(s) at the event. Each company submitted 6 samples of the same putter for consideration. This is 1 of 6 samples of the design that was submitted by PING for consideration. PING’s sample was ultimately not chosen as the putter to be sold at the merchandise tent(s), so this putter was never mass produced. There are only 6 of these specific putters ever made and we are pleased to say we are able to offer 1 in this lot. 35 1/2"
