This specific grouping of Sam Snead, Jimmy Hines, Sam Byrd, & Ed Dudley Signed Cut Album Pages was obtained along with other items offered in this auction by contestants in the 1941 Masters Tournament. Each measures 2" x 3" and carries a single, clean autographs.
"Slammin Sam" Sam Snead won 7 Major Tournaments, including 3 Masters in 1949, 1952, and 1954; the British Open in 1946; and PGA Championships in 1942, 1949, and 1951. He had 82 tour victories, with an estimated 160 professional victories in all.
James Ray Hines is a retired American track and field athlete and NFL player, who held the 100-meter world record for 15 years. In 1968, he became the first man to officially break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters, and won individual and relay gold at the Mexico City Olympics
Samuel Dewey Byrd was an American professional baseball outfielder and professional golfer. He played in Major League Baseball and on the PGA Tour. Byrd is the only person to play in both the World Series and the Masters Tournament
Dudley finished 24 times in the top-10 at major championships, and this is a record among players who did not win at least one major. His high finishes in majors include third place at the PGA Championship in 1932, and at the Masters Tournament in 1937. In 1937, he became the first player to finish in the top-10 in all four majors in one year, a feat not repeated until Arnold Palmer in 1960.
