Tiger Woods 2000 US News & World 'First Cover Appearance of Tiger' No Label 7/3/00 - SNC #075654 Gem Mint 9.5
The recent spike in the sports memorabilia market has brought additional collecting categories forward that had been undervalued in the past - tickets, photos and magazines leading the way. Tiger Woods has been in the golfing and sport spotlight for over 25 years now, starring on this uncommon sportsman cover of US News and World Report. "Mind Power" headlined the 2000 cover, with a close shot of Woods studying a putt donning his Sunday red at the 2000 US Open in which he seemed to play a different tournament than his competition. This 9.5 Gem Mint newsstand (no label) cover comically includes the seemingly always relevant line "Gas Prices: Why You're Paying So Much." It is graded and encapsulated by SNC.
The Golf Auction is currently on-site at St Andrews for the 150th Open Championship. Merchandise and memorabilia items from this historic event are being loaded daily, and you can view them by visiting the end of the auction or choosing the categories Late Additions or 2022 The OPEN Items.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, July 17th. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bidders in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm EDT
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm EDT
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm EDT, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
