Augusta National GC 1933 Opening Day Cachet
This 1933 Augusta National GC "Bobby Jones Golf Course" Opening Day is the blue with a red outline version. Used to help promote membership at Augusta National, also known at that time as Robert T. Jones course (see photo), this unique FDC contains the original Augusta, GA postmark from January 13, 1933 (the official opening day of the course) in black ink. The FDC was mailed by one George Washington 3 cent stamp. Writing on the front declares the following: Augusta National Golf Club Robert T. (Bobby) Jones Course Opening Jan. 13, 1933 Augusta, Ga.
