Mangrum, Guldahl, Eisenhower & others Sigend 'The Masters: Profile of a Tournament' to Author Dawson Taylor
"All About its History, its Records, its Players, its Remarkable Course and Even More Remarkable Tournament" the title page previews the popular publication by Dawson Taylor. This example is quite different than the ones you normally might see, as it is signed by late golfing luminaries, Masters Champions and even the first lady with an Augusta National cabin named after her in Mamie Dowd Eisenhower. Many of these signatures are made out "To Dawson," the author of course. The who's who list of signatures are as follows: Mamie Dowd Eisenhower, 1939 winner Ralph Guldahl, Purple Heart recipient Lloyd Mangrum, CBS' Ben Wright, original honorary starter Freddie McLeod "1908" referring to his US Open victory, 1937 and 1942 winner Bryon Nelson, and 1969 winner George Archer, most to author Dawson Taylor. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
This is the largest auction we have had to date. Please use the search button and categories tab as an option to navigate your way through the numerous lots.
