Mark Calcavecchia's 2008 World Golf Champ-CA Wedgewood China Blue Bowl - LE 107/120
Wedgewood is an English company that is known for crafting high quality china bowls, often adorned by white colored golfers on the side of a blue dish or bowl. This offering is for a 2008 World Golf Classic - CA bowl that was gifted to the 1989 Golfer of the Year, Mark Calcavecchia. Hand-numbered to 120, this Westwood bowl is stamped in the base and features a swing sequence of old-time golfers on the side, possibly paying homage to the international appeal of golf and specifically the tournament. The gold accent is simple and effective on the bowl that measures 3 3/4" tall, with a diameter of 8." Geoff Oglivy collected his second World Golf Championship tournament win in 2008. The Calcavecchia family will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this auction item to the hurricane Dorian relief efforts.
Mark Calcavecchia Collection:
The 1989 ‘Champion Golfer of the Year’ was none other that 4-time US Ryder Cup Team Member and perennial top PGA Tour player, Mark Calcavecchia. As a testament to Calcavecchia’s easy going personality after the 1989 Open Championship in Royal Troon he told a member of the press that he wasn’t aware of the tournament’s playoff format and jokingly asked “How’s my name going to fit on that thing?” He of course was referring to the Claret Jug. A Florida native since 1973, Calcavecchia has been in the spotlight numerous times in his career, with big wins and a runner up finish in the 1988 Masters Tournament.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, September 15th with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
