A collection of two vintage hardcover golf instructional books published in the early 20th century. The first volume is titled The Golfer's Handbook: A Manual on Golf as it is Played and Taught by the "Old Masters," compiled and edited by Roy L. McFrederick. This work was published by Sugar News Press in Manila, 1926. It is a small format octavo bound in dark green cloth with a blind-stamped title and decorative rectangular border on the front cover. The interior includes a text-based frontispiece on page 11 featuring a prose piece titled Golf by D. R. Forgan and contains numerous black-and-white photographic plates illustrating proper stances and swings, including a plate titled Stance and address for the drive.
The second volume is titled Golf Faults Illustrated by G. W. Beldam and J. H. Taylor, published by George Newnes, Limited in London. This is a "New & Enlarged Edition," noted as a "Fourth Impression" on the title page. The book is an octavo bound in bright green cloth with gilt-stamped lettering and a central circular logo featuring a tree and the text G.N. LTD on the front cover. The title page verso identifies the printer as William Clowes and Sons, Limited, of London. The instructional content features high-quality black-and-white photographic plates, including close-up studies of the orthodox grip at the top of the swing and player analysis using a superimposed grid system for stance and swing mechanics.
