1980 TPC at Sawgrass Opening Day Medal - October 24
From the collection of Jack Fleck comes this 1 1/2" diameter metal in it's original presentation case from the Professional Golf Association of America. It was issued to commemorate the dedication on the opening of TPC at Sawgrass on October 24, 1980. That day bagpipers led a host of dignataries into the stadium course, and the realization of Deane Beman's dream for the course became a reality. Today it is the site of the yearly Players Championship. Thought to be golf's fifth major by many.
