Official 'Caution Slippery When Wet' Wood Sign from c.1980's Masters Tournament
'Caution Slippery When Wet' is boldly taped green across this substantial white painted sign with a welcomed distressed/weathered look. The look that hints at the inanimate object's inkling to tell stories from the Masters Tournament of years past, going on four decades ago more specifically. Slight crazing in the paint and stenciled 'Masters Green' bold, uppercase font which matched the tournament color scheme. There are two holes down the center by way of screw mounting - again showing welcomed usage. This specific sign is placed in the mid 1970's-80's period, with the likelihood that it signified the raised camera vantage point for numerous 'Traditions Unlike Any Other.' Was this very sign there for Jack Nicklaus' wins? How many? Likely and unsure, as photo matching remains a distinct possibility with extensive Masters Tournament galleries on many platforms. Masters signs once displayed during the famed Augusta, Georgia contest or contests come to market with extreme rarity please factor that in when bidding.
