It was only fitting that prized painter Robert Fletcher studied the elder statesman of the most exclusive club in modern golf's career Grand Slam, Gene Sarazen. A young depiction of Gene Sarazen with bow tie, plus fours and club in hand bears incredible detail.
Renown golf industry artist Robert Fletcher has dedicated nearly 40 years to refining his craft in the fine arts. His works are exhibited on the historic grounds of Cherry Hills and Colorado Golf Club in bronze busts, prior to participating as a lead artist in a recent Golf Heritage Society Meeting art workshop. His most recent success was work that was used as a tribute to the course architect team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw at the Colorado Golf Club. Robert has a unique style, with a mix of realism and and shadowing resulting in an almost a mythic result. A perfectionist, Fletcher's artistic touch starts long before the brush is dipped in paint. Fletcher shared that he used raw stretched linin from Utrecht, Netherlands which is wetted and then applied with specialized rabbit skin glue prior to the artwork starting. This offering is for a tastefully framed original oil on canvas of Gene Sarazen by Robert Fletcher, with the prized artist's signature painted in the bottom right hand corner. 15 3/4" x 27 3/4"
