Original Musselburgh Old Course Watercolor Painting by Artist Kenneth Reed FRSA
This memorizing original watercolor was brushed by the highly celebrated golf scene subject expert Kenneth Reed in depiction of Musselburgh Golf Links, that of original Open Championship rotation fame. Host of six Opens between 1874 and 1889, Musselburgh's clubhouse and skyline backdrops a swing lesson with the youthful pupil lining up a tee shot under the instruction of his elder teacher. Shadow casted on the cloudy day, Reed transitions from light and airy to detailed and exact just below with each window frame depicted.
"Kenneth Reed, whose paintings have been commissioned by such golfing greats as Gary Player, Bob Charles, Greg Norman and Tom Weiskopf for their own homes, and whose clients include the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the United States Golf Association, is widely acclaimed as one of the international golf community's finest artists," Reed's own site modestly states.
"Since 1972 he has been creating the evocative paintings of golf course landscapes which have included such venues as Augusta, Pinehurst and Pebble Beach, and his paintings grace the walls of many historic clubhouses such as Sunningdale, Wentworth and Royal Troon."
