Palmer, Nicklaus & Player 'Big 3 ' Signed 2004 Masters Flag - Arnie's Final Masters
Palmer, Nicklaus, and Player were known as golf's "Big Three," who dominated golf in the 1960s and are credited with popularizing and commercializing the sport during the television age of golf. The three have a combined 34 major championships, with Jack's 18 still sitting securely atop the golf world. Player's nine Majors are tied for fourth all-time with Ben Hogan, and The King won seven major championships. The 2004 Masters flag here is signed by each of the then larger-than-life figures in black marker. Of great significance it was the final year in which Palmer played, Jack playing until the next year and Player did as well until 2009. The Big Three were then honorary starters kicking off the tournament with the ceremonial first shots on the first hole for many years later. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
