Robert Boyd's Mario Cioni Italian Lead Crystal 2001 Pro-Am Golf Trophy Vase
This urn-shaped trophy vase is manufactured by Mario Cioni in Italy. The piece is crafted from lead crystal containing over 24 percent PbO. The body features hand-cut glass patterns including a band of cross-hatched diamonds at the shoulder and base of the bowl, with elongated vertical mitre cuts through the center. The neck is decorated with vertical faceted cuts leading to a flared, smooth rim. The vase is mounted on a substantial tiered and circular pedestal base. The front of the vase is etched with the text 2001 PRO-AM PROFESSIONAL CHAMPION. Above the text is the emblem for the Morehead City Country Club, featuring a stylized marlin to the left of a shield-shaped crest containing a golf flag and landscape. A transparent manufacturer label is located on the upper body, featuring a crown logo above interlocking letters MC and the text MARIO CIONI LEAD CRYSTAL OVER 24 percent PbO MADE IN ITALY. 10 1/4"H X 4 1/4"W
