Superior Silver Plate Co. Golf-Themed Silver-Plated Novelty Toast Rack
Superior Silver Plate Co., a brand of the International Silver Co., this novelty silver-plated metal toast rack features a golf motif. The rack is designed with six sections for toast, created by seven dividers in the form of crossed golf club irons. The club uprights are detailed with textured grips and modeled iron heads. A central handle consists of a single vertical golf club shaft topped with a dimpled golf ball and a circular finger ring. The rack is constructed with a rectangular openwork base supported by four ball feet, each shaped to resemble a dimpled golf ball. The underside of the central longitudinal bar is impressed with an oval maker mark containing the text SUPERIOR in the upper arc and S. P. CO. in the lower arc.
