Tom Clark Cairn Studio John Robert Golf Gnome Figurine 1996
A hand-painted resin golf-themed gnome, executed in the distinctive style of artist Tom Clark for Cairn Studio. The male figure features a textured brown beard, a tall conical red hat, and a blue tunic gathered at the waist with a rope-style belt. He is modeled in a stooped posture, peering down at a large white golf ball situated on a mound of autumn leaves and acorns. Behind his back, his hands are clasped, holding a yellow golf tee. The base is an assemblage of sculpted oak and maple leaves. A leaf on the front of the base features the hand-incised signature Tom Clark. On the reverse, a sculpted satchel integrated into the base bears the copyright symbol; Clark; 1996; and the number 5201. The underside of the base is finished with a dark brown protective felt pad.
