Trio of Vintage Texas Open Golf Tournament Programs and Pairing Sheets 1954-1964
This lot features a collection of vintage paper ephemera from the Texas Open Golf Tournament documenting three different years of the competition in San Antonio. The group includes a 37th Texas Open Golf Tournament program from 1964 hosted at the Oak Hills Country Club. The red cover depicts World Golf Hall of Fame member Jimmy Demaret and the interior contains biographical information on Demaret along with a full page Lone Star Beer advertisement on the back cover. Also included is a 30th Texas Open Golf Tournament souvenir program from 1957 held at Brackenridge Park which features local San Antonio imagery and welcome messages from city officials. Accompanying the 1957 program is a separate pairings and starting times sheet for Sunday February 17 1957 listing legendary players such as Arnold Palmer Jimmy Demaret Billy Casper Jr. and Doug Ford. The final item is a foldout pairings and starting times sheet from the 27th Texas Open in 1954 at Brackenridge Park. This document features an illustrated map of the golf course a list of tournament sponsors and a Sunday schedule identifying players including Jack Burke Jr. Don January and Mike Souchak.
