Two Sterling Silver Golf-Themed Accessories Including USGA Tie Bar and Match Safe
This lot features two vintage sterling silver accessories with golfing motifs. The first item is a tie bar fashioned in the shape of a golf club iron. Centered on the shaft is a circular medallion depicting the Great Seal of the UNITED STATES GOLF ASSOCIATION. The reverse of the club shaft is stamped with the maker's mark DOSICK and STERLING. It is housed in its original brown velvet-lined presentation case with an interior plaque reading STERLING SILVER. Pin is 2 1/2”
The second item is a circular sterling silver match safe vista. The piece features a high-relief embossed scene on both sides depicting a golfer in period knickers finishing a swing, surrounded by a gallery of spectators and a tree. It is fitted with a suspension jump ring and a hinged top that opens to reveal a narrow internal compartment. The interior lip is marked 925, followed by an indistinct pictorial maker's mark and the word STERLING. 1 1/2” in diameter.
