Vintage Columbia Special Hickory-Shafted Blade Putter
A vintage blade-style putter featuring a forged iron head and a tapered hickory wood shaft. The striking face of the club head features a machine-punched pattern with five vertical columns of horizontal dash grooves. The back of the club head is stamped with several identifying marks: the word PUTTER at the top, and the model name COLUMBIA SPECIAL in the center, featuring Columbia in a stylized script above a bar and the word Special. A rampant lion or griffin crest is stamped to the left, while a crown mark topped with crosses is stamped to the right. The club is finished with a black leather wrap grip secured with cord whipping at the base. The club head shows surface wear consistent with its age and use. The hickory shaft remains intact with a visible natural wood grain. The leather grip exhibits age-related wear including surface cracking and loss of luster, though it remains securely wrapped with intact whipping.
