Vintage Czechoslovakian Golf Ball Theme Smoking Set The 19th Hole
A vintage novelty smoking set designed in the form of a large golf ball, likely dating to the early 20th century. The piece features a white, glossy spherical body made of milk glass or glazed ceramic, decorated with a square dimpled pattern. The top is inscribed with the text The 19th Hole. in black script. The sphere is mounted on a circular green base that is textured and painted to resemble a grass putting green. The item opens on a central metal hinge with a small latch to reveal a silver-toned metal insert. This interior component contains one large central circular opening and six smaller surrounding apertures, a configuration intended for the storage and presentation of cigarettes and matches. The underside of the metal base plate is stamped with the country of origin mark CZECHO-SLOVAKIA. Size 9" x 7.5".
