Walter Hagen's Original 1893 Baptismal Certificate

A surviving relic of over 125 years to the life of "Golf's Greatest Showman". Walter Hagen was presented for baptism on April 23rd of 1893 some four months after his December 21, 1892 birth. Seldom does such a personal document become available to the collecting world, much less one from the cornerstone of early American golf. Document displays traditional compacting folds along with creasing over it's surface. The professional framing which houses this treasured piece has served to protect the fountain pen ink which forged this certificate over a century ago. Displays original seal of the church at the bottom of document. Hagen being of first generation German decent accounts for parts of this certificate including the bible verses 1 Cor 3, 11, Matthew 23,27, John 3, 16, and John 1, 29 appearing in the native countries of his parents language.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval).
