c.1919 MacGregor 'Course-Tested Golf Clubs' Painted Metal Standup Display Sign
Here is an original and vintage 2 - Sided painted metal advertising display sign for MacGregor golf equipment, mounted on a wooden plank base. Used for advertising MacGragor products, including golf clubs and accessories, in sporting goods store and pro shops across the nation. The sign face is finished in a dark brown paint with gold-toned text and graphics. The main upper text reads MACGREGOR in uppercase block letters. The lower section includes secondary text reading COURSE-TESTED on the left and GOLF CLUBS on the right. Centered between this text is a circular logo containing a stylized three-leaf clover, with the word MACGREGOR printed inside the upper rim and DAYTON, O. inside the lower rim which was in use in 1919. The metal supports display a dark oxidized patina. A truly rare find in excess of 105 years old. The sign stands 23.5” tall and measures 26” wide.
