c.1921 Pinehurst Country Club Golf Memorabilia Featuring Map by Donald J. Ross
This collection of ephemera from Pinehurst Country Club in North Carolina includes a large format color printed golf course map and two informational cards. The map is titled PINEHURST COUNTRY CLUB PINEHURST NORTH CAROLINA and bears the attribution Donald J. Ross Golf Architect. A black rectangular overprint is present below the architect name; the year 1921 is visible beneath this mark. The layout depicts four distinct golf courses, labeled Course 1 through Course 4, with individual yardage charts provided for each. Other illustrated features include Polo Fields, practice field, club house, parking space, and tacking space. The illustration uses green for fairways with shaded representations for sand hazards and water features. The lot also includes two light green cardstock items. One card features a central color logo with the text PINEHURST THE FAMOUS WINTER RESORT IN NORTH CAROLINA and an embossed version of the same logo on the reverse. The second card contains a paragraph within a decorative frame describing the village of Pinehurst, mentioning four hotels (the Carolina, Holly Inn, Berkshire, and Harvard), boarding houses, a dairy, market garden, poultry farm, and other village infrastructure.
