"Have you seen this image before?" The resounding answer was no. Reeves Studio out of Atlanta, Georgia was a premier photography company for local buildings and figures. They captured architectural landmarks such as the stately School of Medicine four-story brick at Emory University and the Shakespeare production at the performing arts center. Perhaps even more of a spectacle, Reeves would conduct a closed-door commissioned photo shoot of proud Atlantan Bobby Jones and student at Emory centered around one extremely important article of haberdashery - the co-founder's Augusta National Golf Club green jacket. While black and white, the posed Jones has a single hand in pocket while turning so the ANGC patch with the utmost clarity faces the professional lensman. This style that began with the coat tradition (for members) in 1937 through 1947, dropping the ANGC in 1948 as seen in Claude Harmon's trophy presentation. The studio that was a staple in the Atlanta city directory for 70 years starting in 1914 is stamped on the verso of this crisp, well preserved photo of Jones 'Reeves Studios - Blvd. at North Ave. - Atlanta, GA.' 5" x 7 1/4"
