Champion Mike Donald's 1989 Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic Waterford Crystal PGA Tour Trophy
"PGA Tour Winner" is the defining lead-in designation that each golfer for decades has hoped to be introduced with. Mike Donald received this honor on July 16, 1989 when he closed the deal at the Anheuser-Busch Golf Classic. This winner's trophy certainly wasn't given to him, but earned after a Playoff win over Tim Simpson and Hal Sutton after a 72 hole three-way tie at 16-under 268 at Kingsmill Golf Club just outside of Williamsburg, Virginia. This stunning, cut-glass Waterford crystal trophy is a sizeable 11" x 9" x 8" and carries the tournament logo and year on the bowl. Elegant crosshatching and a stylized, wavy trophy bowl lip contributes to this PGA Tour winner's trophy's elevated eye appeal. A letter of provenance from Mike Donald will accompany this lot.
