1926 USGA Amateur Public Links Contestant Badge
Employing the design as used by the United States Golf Association since the early 1920's until the early 1930's for Contestants Badges at each of their Championships. This contestants badge from the 1926 United States Amateur Public Links Championship comes from an unknown player who was designated #9. The red/white enamel which encircles, the prominent USGA lettering, can still be clearly read as "Amateur Public Links Championship August 3-7, 1926". The scalloped edge badge was manufactured by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, NJ, and this badge still carries the original issued clasp.
