This is an original vintage black and white gelatin silver press photograph capturing a pivotal moment in golf history: Bobby Jones being awarded the U.S. Amateur trophy at Merion Cricket Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, in September 1930. This victory marked his fourth major championship of the year, completing his historic and unmatched calendar-year Grand Slam. The photograph depicts Jones standing at a presentation table covered in a white cloth with a banner reading MERION. He is receiving the trophy from Findlay Douglas, then-President of the United States Golf Association (USGA), before a large crowd gathered in front of the Merion clubhouse.
