In 1930, Bobby Jones won his fourth Major tournament of the year, making him the first player ever to capture the "Grand Slam" of golf. Jones beat Gene Homans in match play format, 8 and 7. Offered here is a 9"L X 10"W(overall size) heavy stock sheet of paper which is center-folded to present a "thirties" generation scorecard. The scorecard has been neatly scored in vintage fountain pen showing the match concluding with Jones closing out Homans on the 11th hole of the second round that 27TH of September 1930 at the Merion Golf Club. A sense of how few of these scorecards may exist is garnered from the total attendance that day with a reported 9,000 spectators present for the morning session which swelled to almost 18,000 for the historic afternoon conclusion of Bobby's quest for the Grand Slam. For accuracy this extremely historic piece, a difficult to find item, contains two hole punches on the front cover. Also one hole punch on the back cover, and minimal surface crease to the lower right hand corner of the back page. The Keystone Automobile Club which handled the tournament parking operations receives advertising rights on both the front and back covers. The immortal Bobby Jones' greatest career achievement is captured hole by hole on this treasured keepsake.
