1931 Bobby Jones "Chip Shots" Film 'How I Play Golf' Shorts for Vitaphone Original Photo
Warner Bros. signed Jones to do a series of 18 short golf instructionals with Hollywood actors in 1931. Jones personally selected the title to be “How I play Golf” Jones received $101000 for his efforts which went into a trust fund for his kids. Not a wire photo or reproduction, it depicts Bobby Jones addressing the ball in 'Chip Shots' short film in the foreground with a handful of onlookers sitting on the ground to his right in the middle ground and the golf course's tree line in the distance. The crystal clear 10" x 8" photo is of landscape orientation and not one of the originals released for publicity by Warner Bros and Vitaphone with the caption line in the margin below image. A caption is affixed to the verso as depicted in the accompanying lot photos. There is some edging wear, please inspect the accompanying lot photos for a detailed condition report.
