1938 United States Open Brass Badge - Cherry Hills - Ralph Guldahl Champion


Defending champion Ralph Guldahl won his second straight U.S. Open title at the 1938 competition, six strokes ahead of runner-up Dick Metz. It was the second of Guldahl's three major titles. Made out of brass this unique looking U.S. Open badge measures 2 1/2" x 2". Etched into the brass plate are four golf clubs, a golf ball, the depiction of the clubhouse and the writing reads as follows:

"CHERRY HILLS CLUB DENVER, COLO. 42ND OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP U.S.G.A. SEASON TICKET JUNE 4-11,-1938 along with the #1291). Reverse is a blank backed with the exception of it's original safety pin backed fastener. This is a very seldom scene item of U.S. Open memorabilia
