1965 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship Contestant Badge
Badge manufactured by The Robbins Co. for the 1965 U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship. The item features a circular top section with a bronze-tone central medallion depicting the United States Golf Association seal, consisting of a bald eagle with a shield, olive branch, and arrows. This central image is surrounded by the text UNITED STATES GOLF ASSOCIATION. A white enamel outer ring contains the raised metal text WOMEN'S OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. Below the circular portion is an embossed bar with the year 1965. The base of the badge features a horizontal rectangular recessed slot designed to hold an identification insert. The reverse side is stamped with the manufacturer mark THE ROBBINS CO. ATTLEBORO, MASS. and includes a pin back mechanism with a safety catch.
