Regarded by many as the fifth Major. The Tournament Players Championship (shortened to The Players Championship in 1988) debuted in 1974 with the event be contested at the Atlanta Country Club. What a way to kick off a new event with Jack Nicklaus claiming the first championship in 1974. It found it's permanent home in 1982 at the newly developed T.P.C. Sawgrass, The Palyers Stadium Course. Over the last 37 years the champions of this event read as a whoose who of golf: Lee Trevino, Ray Floyd, Fred Couples, Tom Kite, Greg Norman, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods to name a few. This first year program which is offered in NrMt condition is seldom seen, and very collectible as a Jack Nicklaus item.
