1988 PGA Club Professional Championship Walter Hagen Cup Trophy Awarded to Robert Boyd
This gold-tone metal trophy is the Walter Hagen Cup, awarded to Robert Boyd as the winner of the 1988 PGA Club Professional Championship held at Pinehurst, North Carolina. The trophy is designed as a loving cup with two scrollwork handles featuring finials. The fluted stem is decorated with acanthus leaf motifs at the top and a gadrooned border at the base. The cup is mounted on a multi-tiered square wooden pedestal. The front of the bowl is engraved in script with the title The Walter Hagen Cup. Below the title is the engraved logo for the Professional Golfers Association of America, featuring the letters PGA with crossed golf clubs and a ball on a tee. A brass-tone plaque is attached to the front of the wooden base with four screws. The plaque is engraved in capital letters with the recipient name, winner designation, event title, and location. The underside of the wooden base contains a central assembly bolt and four cork protective pads. 10 1/2" x 16"
