2013 Open Champion Phil Mickelson 147th The Open Championship Course Used Walking Scoreboard Nameplate
Two years after Phil Mickelson's Open duel with Henrik Stenson and five years senior Lefty's crowning of Champion Golfer of the Year this canary yellow nameplate with a royal blue 'MICKELSON' was presumably used as the walking scoreboard during the round for on-course spectators that couldn't already differentiate the polarizing, left-handed short-game wizard. This measures 16 1/2" x 3" and comes with a Fanatics authentication sticker affixed to the bottom left corner of the frontside, much smaller than the nameplates used for grandstand scoreboard at Carnoustie to witness Italy's first Claret Jug winner Francesco Molinari. It would have been on one side of the walking scorer scoreboard, with the backside of it sticker labeled "Mickelson, Phil - The 147th Open/2018) Event-Used." The ends are bowed up slightly, showing usage as depicted in the accompanying lot photos.
