42nd Crosby Decanter with Seal on Rock - Missing Golf Ball - Danny Edwards Collection
A favorite tour stop among pros and celebrities alike, Bing Crosby held his annual tournament for the first time in 1937. The tournament was played in San Diego prior to WWII, when it then traveled to Cypress Point Club, Pebble Beach Golf Links and Monterey Peninsula Country Club until 1966. Since that date it has been played in the Pebble Beach, California area, widely known for their golf mecca. The highly successful annual festivity surrounding the tournament was a none other than a non-traditional clambake for the lone golf tournament in which celebrities are partnered with professionals throughout its entirety to this day, now played under the 'AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am' name. This offering is for Danny Edwards' Seal on Rock decanter for the 42nd tournament. The golf ball that usually sits on the seal's nose is missing.6" x 5" x 10"
A signed letter of provenance from Danny Edwards comes with this lot.

His autobiography titled 'Driven', co-authored by Bob Denney, used multiple meanings of the word - very fitting for the ambitious winner. Later an entrepreneur extraordinaire, Edwards developed/ founded Royal Grip Co., CEO of GreenFix Golf the innovative repair tool company, and founder of The Chipping Equation. Part of a golfing family, his younger brother David joined him on the tour in 1978. Prior to his PGA Tour card the decorated amateur was a 1972 Walker Cup Team Member, 1972 North and South Amateur champion, and 1973 Open Championship Low Amateur. Danny Edwards made 25 major championship cuts and had his card for 14 seasons prior to mastering other facets of life in business.
