A Collection of 1999 U.S. Open Putter Boy Pavilion Weekly Grounds Badges and Ticket Holder
A set of official grounds badges for the 99th United States Open Championship held at Pinehurst No. 2 in the Village of Pinehurst, North Carolina, in 1999. The collection consists of eight individual hanging badges and one original ticket holder. The badges are designated for the Putter Boy Pavilion and cover the entire tournament week, including practice rounds on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (June 14-16), four championship rounds from Thursday to Sunday (June 17-20), and a play-off round badge for Monday, June 21. Each badge displays a vintage-style sepia-toned photograph depicting various scenes from the Pinehurst resort. The reverse of each badge is printed with the USGA logo, a tournament seal with the Putter Boy mascot, unique serial numbers, and the original purchase price of either $45.00 or $90.00. The legal terms of use and a large letter P for pavilion access are also present. The included paper ticket holder features an illustration of the Pinehurst clubhouse on the front and provides spectator information, location details, and weather warnings on the reverse.
